Christmas on the Mind
Usually Wednesday is my day off but this week we are working a weird schedule, so I'm not off until Friday. And that's ok because I seem to feel better on the days I work. AND...my eye brows are coming in! YAY! They look strange at the moment but that's ok too, I can live with that.
I can't believe it is almost Christmas. I feel like I missed the summer. I feel as if I fell asleep in the Spring and woke up and it is Christmas time. Along with that though came a wonderful Christmas gift of being Cancer Free and everyday my body gets stronger.
Speaking of Christmas, the girls and I at work need to decide what we are going to do. We usually draw names but this year because nobody seems to have money I wonder if they'd rather skip the gifts and just have food or maybe a white elephant gift. Very seldom do we all work at one time but we're all there on the 23rd so I'm thinking that will be the perfect day. Steph always makes those little sausages in the crockpot and Loni does punch with ginger ale and sherbet and I need a yummy something to take. Any suggestions?
I hope your day is a lovely one today.
Love,
Robbin

robbin-thank you so much for stopping by my blog and connecting. I am SO glad that the first post I read talks about you being cancer free!!! What a truly joyous thing.
Robbin,
I have my last 2 exams and my last day of classes for the semester today. So, I'm in a bit of a celebratory mood myself (or will be when that 2nd exam is done!) After this, I have one month off and can get into Christmas-mode. I know you'll come up with something yummy for the party. Have a great day, and I'll check in with you soon.
Just do a potluck on the 23rd. Even white elephant gifts can be a hassel at this busy time of year. Maybe a coupon for a day off exchange? XXOO
I have a great cheese ball that everyone likes and isn't much trouble to make. I have the recipe at home. I'll post it in your comments tomorrow.
Robbin, what type of thing would you like to bring? In my experience, simple cheese platters perhaps with some grapes are always well-received. If you want something more elaborate let me know and I'll dig through my files. :-)
I like to do meat trays...a little expensive...but easy. I am a great chef you know...ha!ha! just kidding of course!
Hi Brandi, so nice to see you and yes it is a joyous thing for sure to be on the mend and disease free. Hope your day is good!
Aisling, I'm so glad you are going to have some time off and get to enjoy the holiday. Best to you an your family, and hope we get to talk soon.
Tammy, that would suit me fine, I'll let them vote on it.
Love you bunches!
Oh Shirley, that will be great, we like cheese balls and I don't really have a special recipe, thanks!
Rapunzel, a cheese tray would probably be good for sure, I like adding the grapes. Thanks for the idea and if I need something more I will for sure ask you.
Memaw, thanks for your idea too, meat and cheese and grapes! I think that would be very good and we could munch all day.
