Giant Marigold

My Stepfather is growing tomatoes in buckets and there are a few Marigolds planted with them to keep the worms away. This is the most hugest Marigold I've ever seen. WOW. As for the tomato vines they are full of tomatoes that won't seem to get ripe! I did have one the other day and it was so wonderful. I forgot what real tomatoes taste like because here all you can get are the ones in the grocery store that come from who knows where.
Most people who go through Chemo have a metallic taste when they eat but I've not experienced that at all. What I have experienced is food tastes more intense. Meat is not so good to me, it all taste too meaty. Like wild game almost. I can eat chicken breast a little but not much else. Sweet stuff is too sweet, salty stuff is too salty, it's a little weird. But those tomatoes, Yummy. They were perfect. And fruit is good to me, it taste wonderful.
Anyway, just wanted to share this GIANT with you and to say have a good day. I'm off to get another blood test. My poor veins, I think I'm going to run out of good ones before long.

I think yellow marigolds are so happy! I was thinking that the reason you only have a taste for fresh fruit and veggies is probably because they are the most nutritious thing you could eat right now. I would eat all I could....do you have a farmer's market around you somewhere?

hope so...happy to hear things are still OK :)

That is a beautiful marigold. And I've heard several people around here also saying their tomatoes aren't getting ripe. Maybe we should contact the County agent's office and see if they know what's happening.

Maybe the signs weren't right when they were planted.

Glad you enjoyed the one you got.

Hi Linda, you are right, it is probably what my body needs right now, and NO, no market really. But I got a few good things yesterday at a grocery that buys some things local. And I've enjoyed them too.

Hi Shirely, don't know what's up with those tomatoes! If they'd get ripe we'd have a bumper crop!

Are you serious? All I had to do was plant marigolds next to my tomatoes and the worms would have stayed away? Dern! Ya learn something new every day!

By the way, if your little veins get too bad, you can get a port, I did and then I was guaranteed ONE stick instead of as many as 12! Seriously, one day it took them 12 sticks to get me. That was when they decided to put the port in.
