That is a very interesting form of poetry. I have never heard of it before. Thanks for introducing us to it!
Robbin, I am going to share with you the reason that your blog caught my eye in the first place. It was the little quote from your grandfather about the cedar chest for the first granddaughter. I have a cedar chest made for me by my grandpa from cedar trees on his own land! The outside of the chest is from birch, also his own trees, and it is cedar lined. He made one for each of his granddaughters and gave it to us on our Confirmation Day, at about age 13. I think he made about 15 chests. He also made small boxes, wall shelves, magazine racks, and assorted other things from the smaller pieces of wood left from the chest construction.
I still have my chest. It now holds thousands of photos that I really need to go through one of these days! And I kind of feel a post about my grandpa coming on!!
